FELLOWS DOMINANT AT TWIN STATE SPEEDWAY FINALE
SEPTEMBER 21, 2005

Claremont, N.H. - Aaron Fellows started 13th, pitted after a lap 1 altercation, restarted from the rear of the 21 car field and took the lead on lap 21 then blistered the field in the Claremont Ford season ending finale for the Pro Late Models on Saturday night. It was a special non-points/ make up event that actually started way back in May when back to back Memorial Day shows were washed out. To give fans, racers and sponsors one last chance at their night of racing, owner/promoter Dennis Fleury put this show together. "We originally had just a 50 lap Pro Late Model feature, our Wildcats and The NEMA Tour to make up" says Fleury. "But we wanted to give everyone their money's worth". Fleury ended with a 9-division features only show, which was a definite home run for the crowd on hand. The NEMA Tour and the STAR Tour was added to the regular 7 divisions and every race was exciting and action filled. Veteran Gary Caron came out of retirement and drew the pole for the Pro Late Model feature. Caron bolted right to the front and looked like he had never been away from the sport until lap 7 when something came undone as he entered turn 1 setting off a multi car melee. On the restart Kris Lyman would have the top spot and held off various attempts by Denis Bergeron and "Flyin" Brian Sears to stay out front. On lap 16 Adam Bates spun in turn 2 and then on the restart Dick Lamotte Jr. got caught in the middle of a bumper-to-bumper jam and slid into the infield. On lap 20 "The Superman" Aaron Fellows dove low coming out of turn 2 to grab the lead and on lap 24 Mark Merrill spun on the front chute to bring out the final caution. The final 26 laps were caution free and Fellows opened up a huge lead and won handily with Mark Hayward the runner up and Brian Sears rounded out the top three. 17 cars lined up to take the green in the Super Street main with "Slammin" Sammy Earle and 2005 track champion Chris Bergeron making up the front row. Bergeron immediately showed how he racked up his third title in four years by leaving the field in his wake. On lap 20, Phil Hayes spun in turn 2 for the first caution and on the restart Lenny Silver was helped around on the backstretch. Bergeron was clearly the show as he led by a full straight at times. On lap 26 Josh King bashed the back chute wall and from there it was a single file restart with Bergeron racing to the checkers over "The Tank Commander" John Lavoie, Nate "The Hammer" Martell, Mike Duquette and "Lightning" Larry Riendeau.

Jim Rhodes led the first 7 laps of the Lightning Stock 20 lapper until 2005 track champion Mike "Banzai" Burke took command. The Lightnings ran their Feature event caution free and Burke took home the checkers over Rhodes and Calvin Poland. The Pro Quads had a hand full of racers playing "Musical Chairs" and Cricket Williams stealing the lead at the drop of the green from his team mate Wayne Kendall. On lap 3 Travis Wrights mount came around on the back chute collecting Angela Jacobs with a hard crash that saw Jacobs car erupt in flames. Everyone was okay but both cars were done for the night. On the restart "Ranger" Rick Lambert took the lead away and never looked back en route to the victory. "Dangerous" Dan Lafoe was the winner of the Figure 8 feature while 2005 track champs Joey Jarvis (Sportsman) and Dave Aiken (Wildcats) also picked up wins in their respective divisions. For the visiting NEMA Tour, Kyle Carpenter held off "The Jersey Jet" Joey Payne and the STAR Series saw Chris Demoura the victor in the Sportsman Class and David Scott the Modified winner. Next up for Twin State Speedway is the Annual Awards Banquet, which will be held at the Lake Morey Inn and Resort on November 19th.
